Imagine you are awakened early one morning by the distant sounds of what you think are explosions. You spring out of bed and are hit with the smell of smoke, but your house isn't on fire. You grab for the remote on the nightstand and try to turn on the news - but the TV doesn't work. The sound of sirens are whaling in the distance. You frantically flip a light switch on and realize the power is out. Next you pick up the phone to make a call - but there is only silence. Luckily, there is enough early morning light to make your way into the living room to search for your cell phone. You find your cell phone and dial 911 only to hear an obscure tone with "No Service" flashing on the display. Your heart is beating faster and faster as you try and not panic. Suddenly, you remember about a short wave radio in the closet - in case of an emergency. Just as the radio turns on you hear the emergency broadcast tones followed by this message - This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill. The entire State of California has been attacked by an unknown terrorists force. All power and utility services have been knocked out. Thousands of people are missing and unaccounted for. The Governor has declared a state of emergency and is urging everyone to stay in their homes...

BOOK SUMMARY

Somewhere between reality and fiction lies the essence of Jay P. Farrington's compelling first novel, Domestic Terrorism. A real-life street cop, Farrington expertly tells the tale of Wes MacGregor - a street-wise law enforcement veteran whose prophetic vision of the degeneration of America's teenagers comes hauntingly true. Farrington introduces us to child armies who have turned away from their dysfunctional families, to gain the acceptance of a maniacal father figure, hell-bent on exacting his revenge on society in general, and Wes in particular. Ripped from real life events, Domestic Terrorism is a shockingly smart page-turner you won't soon forget.

Story Behind the Cover

The boy on the cover is a young neighbor who volunteered to be my model. He is actually standing in my garage in front of a blue sheet. The background is the street behind my house at dusk. After  several hours in front of my computer teaching my self graphic design,  I came up with this cover.  I was pleased with the finished product since it was my first book cover.  I think it captures the essence of the book.
